The model lift!
Luis Mosquera snatching 145. This guy embdies what i call"Stretch-bang". He stretches out his finish and bangs under the bar. There be no swinging here and a good amount of stomping with the feet. Weight sits behind the head. This lift is as smooth as silk!
We aim to be like LUIS!
Get on the process
Stage 1. Transfers
The most important thing about getting this exercise right is to make sure
you DONT use your legs/hips to make the bar go up in order to get under. Pull yourself DOWN to get under. Transfer = transfer your position. Keep the bar close and stomp the feet hard
Stage 2. Arch and Down
Arch and Down
If your back yields at any point in the lift a lot of things in the snatch can't really happen. Under no circumstances practice lifting with a bent back or be lazy with keeping it tight. Maybe when you go heavy in a comp when the pressure is on, but bending the back in training is unforgiveable. Discipline yourself and make a mental effort to keep tight, it will never be auotomatic
Keep the bum down to use your legs - it can also make keeping the back tight easier.
